Chesapeake Lodging Trust Repositions the 174-key Hotel Adagio
San Francisco as it Joins Marriott's Autograph Collection

A Multi-Million Dollar Renovation of the Property was Recently Completed

ANNAPOLIS, Md. - February 22, 2013 --Chesapeake Lodging Trust (NYSE:CHSP) (the “Trust”) announced today that it has entered into an agreement with Marriott International, Inc. (NYSE:MAR) with plans for its iconic Hotel Adagio San Francisco to join Autograph Collection, Marriott International’s global collection of independent hotels.

Following the Trust’s multi-million dollar renovation at the Hotel Adagio San Francisco, which included the transformation of each of the hotel’s 171 guestrooms, penthouse suites and public spaces, expansion of the meeting and event space, and creation of a newly concepted restaurant and lobby bar, the Trust is partnering with Autograph Collection to fully reposition the iconic hotel within the market.

“San Francisco is one of the most exciting destinations in the world. With our coveted location in Union Square and notable reputation, Hotel Adagio San Francisco is poised to offer the very best to those traveling to San Francisco for business or leisure,” said James L. Francis, President and Chief Executive Officer of Chesapeake Lodging Trust. “By joining forces with Autograph Collection, it allows us to tap into one of the industry’s strongest global reservation systems while being included with more than 40 uniquely independent hotels worldwide.”

The Trust is in the process of completing minor brand upgrades that will allow for the seamless interface into the Marriott International global reservation and service systems, and anticipates completion of this process within the next 60 days. “We are thrilled to bring our second Autograph Collection hotel into the portfolio,” continued Mr. Francis. “Beginning in April, guests will enjoy the many benefits of staying with an Autograph Collection hotel, including the opportunity to earn Marriott Rewards points for their stay at Hotel Adagio San Francisco.”

Located in San Francisco’s vibrant Union Square cultural district, Hotel Adagio San Francisco combines Spanish Colonial Revival architecture with a clean and contemporary design aesthetic, sophisticated nightlife and impeccable guest service. Amenities include 171 guestrooms, three distinct penthouse-level suites, 8,600 square feet of meeting and event space, and a lobby-level bar and restaurant. Hotel Adagio San Francisco, managed by Southern California-based Evolution Hospitality, is located at 550 Geary Street in San Francisco, California.
