Oct. 09, 2012 --The Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham hotel in Sacramento has been sold to an Orange County company for $5.6 million, says the Atlas Hospitality Group of Irvine, which handled the sale.

The 271-room all-suite property at 321 Bercut Drive, taken through foreclosure last year, was bought by BA Hotel LLC.

The property has a restaurant, outdoor heated swimming pool, fitness room and more than 5,800 square feet of meeting space.

Atlas said the buyer plans on investing "significant" capital to upgrade the property and retain the current franchise. The planned renovation includes upgrades to all guest rooms, all meeting rooms, the lobby and common areas.
