Martin Rothchild, General Manager of the Hilton Lexington/Downtown Hotel,
Appointed to the Board of Directors of the Convention and Visitors Bureau
for Lexington, Kentucky

LEXINGTON, Ky., November 16, 2012—Officials of New Castle Hotels and Resorts, a leading hotel owner, operator and developer, today announced that Martin Rothchild, general manager of the 366-room Hilton Lexington/Downtown Hotel, has been appointed to the Board of Directors of the Convention and Visitors Bureau for Lexington, Ky.  He was nominated by Lexington Mayor Jim Gray.

“Marty’s focus is always on improving hospitality and promoting Lexington,” Gray said. “From his work in Lexington and in other cities, he brings a lot of industry experience and valuable perspective to the board.”

“It is a great honor to be nominated by Mayor Gray and appointed to the board of the Lexington Convention and Visitors Bureau,” said Rothchild. “Lexington plays host to a number of vastly popular county, state and national events including the University of Kentucky’s home games, the upcoming Kentucky High School Athletic Association Boys Sweet 16 and the second and third rounds of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament in March; and the Rolex 3-Day Equestrian Event in April.  I look forward to playing an active role in these and other events that promote tourism in our area.”

“Marty has been an inspirational leader to his team at the Hilton Lexington/Downtown Hotel and has been quite successful in creating stronger ties between the hotel and the surrounding community,” said Gerry Chase, president and COO of New Castle Hotels and Resorts.  “His business savvy, community involvement and attention to customer service have earned this hotel a prominent position in the Lexington market and I am confident that he will make valuable contributions to the promotion of Lexington as a destination for leisure and business travel.”

Rothchild is an active community leader participating on the boards of directors of the Bluegrass Hospitality Association and the Downtown Lexington Corporation.  He also is active with the American Diabetes Association Bluegrass Chapter.
