Davidson Hotels & Resorts to Manage the 362-room
Hilton Boston Downtown/Financial District

The Massachusetts Hotel is Owned by DiamondRock Hospitality Company

WASHINGTON, DC - - November 13, 2012—Davidson Hotels & Resorts, one of the nation’s largest independent hotel management companies, today announced that it has assumed management of the 362-room Hilton Boston Downtown/Financial District.  The hotel is the second management agreement between owners DiamondRock Hospitality Company (NYSE: DRH) and Davidson.

“We are honored to be selected to manage this high profile property in Boston, which is one of the most sophisticated markets in our industry,” said John Belden, Davidson’s President and CEO. “We are also enthusiastic about continuing and growing our relationship with DiamondRock.”

“Davidson exceeded our expectations on our first hotel management opportunity together.  They quickly improved operations, enhanced the guest experience and implemented aggressive revenue management and marketing strategies that led to an improved market share and bottom line,” said John Williams, President and Chief Operating Officer for DiamondRock Hospitality.  “We look forward to their duplicating that success at the Hilton Boston Downtown/Financial District.”

In addition to its complement of large guest rooms, the 362-room Hilton Boston Downtown/Financial District includes 66 large, two-room suites.  Offering a superior location in the heart of it all, the hotel was built during the 1920s and is housed in one of Boston’s first art deco skyscrapers.  Situated ten minutes from Logan International Airport and just over a mile from the Boston Convention & Exhibit Center at 89 Broad Street, the hotel is proximate to Faneuil Hall Marketplace/Quincy Market, the New England Aquarium, Boston Children’s Museum and the TD Garden arena.  Hotel amenities include more than 10,000 square feet of versatile meeting space, complimentary business center, state-of-the-art fitness center and Nix’s Mate Restaurant, which is located in the main level of the hotel with a separate, dedicated entrance on Broad Street.  Offering the very best in modern American fare with a seasonal and local influence, the menu is created and executed by Chef David Nevins, formerly of Todd English's Olives and Neptune Oyster.
