Davidson Hotels & Resorts Appoints Barry Wabler, Chief Financial Officer
and Jay Rosen, Vice President - Business Development

ATLANTA, Ga., December 18, 2012—Davidson Hotels & Resorts, one of the nation’s largest independent hotel management companies, today announced two new additions to its executive team.   Barry Wabler joins the company as executive vice president and chief financial officer, and Jay Rosen was appointed vice president of business development.

In his new role, Wabler will oversee the accounting, IT and risk management areas, as well as aid in the strategic direction of the company.  Rosen will be responsible for new acquisitions and management contracts for the company.

“As Davidson continues on its growth trajectory, it is more important than ever that we attract high caliber executives like Barry and Jay,” said John Belden, Davidson’s president and CEO.  “Barry’s  experience in the hotel, manufacturing and food service industries, coupled with  a strong public accounting background, made him the ideal candidate to help shape Davidson’s future growth strategy.”

“Jay has participated in more than $5.5 billion in real estate transactions and is an accomplished hospitality investment professional,”  said Steve Margol, Davidson’s chief investment officer.  “His broad range of experience in acquisitions, development, corporate finance, strategic planning and asset management will be very valuable to Davidson as we continue to expand.”

Prior to joining Davidson, Wabler was vice president and chief financial officer for Hotel Equities Group, LLC, a third-party hotel operator with a portfolio of branded hotels in the Southeast. He has held a number of senior management positions, including president and COO of Currey & Company, Inc., a manufacturer of specialty home furnishings. Under Wabler’s leadership, Currey expanded its international production capabilities and domestic market share.  Wabler began his career with Arthur Andersen, where he spent seven years working with such clients as Abrams Industries, Laing Properties, DoubleTree by Hilton and Terrace Garden Inn. He holds a Masters of Accountancy from the University of Georgia and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA).

Prior to joining Davidson, Rosen was part of the development and finance team for Baha Mar, a  $3.5 billion destination resort in the Bahamas.  Before that, he served as director, feasibility and investment analysis for Interstate Hotels & Resorts where he led the due diligence efforts for the company’s hotel acquisition and new business development endeavors. Prior to Interstate, Rosen was a member of the acquisition and development team at Hyatt Hotels & Resorts in Chicago, Ill.  Rosen holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration.
