News for the Hospitality Executive
(London) December 6, 2012 - As a brand with an unrivaled portfolio of some of the world's finest small independent luxury hotels, Small Luxury Hotels of the World (SLH) announces two new executive appointments. Tim Davis has joined the brand as Global Marketing Director and Joyce Polsenberg as Area & Development Director, Americas.
Arriving at the SLH head office in London with experience earned at some of the world's most dynamic brands, Davis is responsible for global marketing with particular focus on the strategic direction of the SLH brand. He will oversee the e-commerce, social media, PR, and marketing teams to ensure delivery of an integrated message across all platforms. In addition, Davis will direct relationships between brand partners to champion the SLH message around the globe. He will report directly to Paul Kerr, CEO for SLH. Looking to 2013 and beyond, Davis' focus is on delivering the very best experience for SLH members, customers and hoteliers.
Joyce Polsenberg is based in the New York office and will continue to bolster awareness and strength for the brand in the Americas. Coming from a diverse background, Polsenberg began with an undergraduate degree in Finance and International Business from Georgetown University. She then worked at Lehman Brothers on the trading room floor before obtaining a Master of Management in Hospitality from Cornell University, as well as at a leading hospitality brand as the Global Director of Business Development. Joyce's duties and responsibilities are two-fold, including overseeing the US office as well as expanding the SLH brand in the Americas, and in particular South America.
According to CEO for SLH, Mr. Paul Kerr, "We are thrilled to expand our SLH family and welcome Tim to our London headquarters and look forward to having him put his strong marketing and brand experience behind executing SLH's goals and global initiatives. We are also delighted to have Joyce join SLH especially at this interesting time. Brazil is a very exciting market for us at the minute, what with both the World Cup and The Olympics being hosted in Rio de Janeiro it seems like it's now or never," said Kerr.
Prior to joining SLH, Davis held significant marketing and brand roles at Virgin, Vodafone and Red Bull. Davis earned degrees in Business and French from the University of West England, Bristol, as well as a Chartered Institute of Marketing Professional Diploma. He currently resides in West London, very close to the River Thames. When not hard at work promoting the SLH brand, Davis enjoys traveling, with particularly interests in South and Central America. He is also an avid kite surfer.
Joyce lives in Manhattan in the West Village and is an avid explorer of the shorelines of the USA from Florida to Maine and the Gulf of Mexico to the islands of Hawaii. She loves to sail and ski, but back in New York she is a virtual restaurant guide, always exploring new restaurants and returning to old favorites.
