Pegah Ghoushbeigui Named Director of Sales and Marketing for the 49-room
Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown Opening Early 2013

WASHINGTON D.C., - December 11, 2012 – Pegah Ghoushbeigui, a hospitality industry executive with extensive experience in the Washington D.C. metropolitan area, has been named Director of Sales and Marketing for the Capella Washington D.C., Georgetown, the first Capella-branded property in the United States. The new build hotel is scheduled to open in early 2013.

“Ms. Ghoushbeigui is an outstanding member of the Capella Washington D.C. team. Her dynamic skills in sales and marketing are invaluable assets as we go forward with the opening of this outstanding hotel.  Additionally, her contacts with the D.C. community will help the hotel deliver creative and culturally immersive experiences for guests as well,” said Alex Obertop, the Capella’s General Manager.

Prior to joining Capella, Ghoushbeigui was Director of Sales and Marketing for the 133-room Latham Hotel in Washington where she achieved exceptional results, consistently exceeding budget and increasing ADR. She also worked closely with the hotel’s Citronelle restaurant operations and public relations team to reposition the establishment for the D.C. luxury market.

Ghoushbeigui began her sales career as Director of Special Events, Marketing and Sales for Eventus, Inc. working independently with clients across several sectors, including restaurants and design companies. In 2005, she became Director of Catering and Special Events at the landmark Jefferson Hotel in Washington and two years later was named Associate Director of Catering at the Park Hyatt Washington where, within a year, she raised the hotel’s Meeting Planner Ranking from 88th to 1st place.

She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in psychology from the University of Maryland, Baltimore and is a member of the Georgetown Business Association and the Marketing Committee of the Georgetown Business Improvement District.
