The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel in Indianapolis, Indiana
Names Jeremy Martindale Executive Chef

INDIANAPOLIS, Ind., December 18, 2012 – The Alexander, A Dolce Hotel, has hired Jeremy L. Martindale as executive chef, overseeing culinary creations for the Plat 99 mixology bar, the hotel’s Market Dining restaurant concept, in-room dining and catering for meetings and events.

A transplant from the East Coast, Martindale most recently was the executive chef of the Omni New Haven at Yale, a AAA Four Diamond Hotel located in New Haven, Connecticut. There, he oversaw all aspects of food production for the 307-room hotel.  Martindale’s skills helped him achieve media notoriety in Connecticut, where he was featured on local television shows including “Earth to Table Dinner at the Chef’s Garden,” “Connecticut Culinary Masters” and “Cooks and Cords.”

“Jeremy is a rare talent,” said Michael Moros, general manager of The Alexander Hotel. “We are lucky to be able to lure him here from the east coast. He not only brings exceptional culinary skill, but a unique approach that should create a memorable dining experience for our guests.”

The Plat 99 mixology cocktail lounge will be a centerpiece of The Alexander. The space was designed by acclaimed artist Jorge Pardo, who is also creating a monumental chandelier for the grand staircase leading from the first floor to the second floor lobby area. A 2010 recipient of a MacArthur Fellowship (commonly known as a “Genius Grant”), Pardo’s work spans the intersection of art, design and architecture. Martindale will be creating a selection of small plates featuring locally sourced ingredients that will pair perfectly with the unique cocktails on the menu.

The hotel’s Market Dining restaurant concept will also showcase locally sourced ingredients and fresh cuisine made from scratch. With the mantra, “Thoughtful Food for Thoughtful Minds,” Martindale’s creations for Market Dining are both imaginative and appealing to a wide variety of tastes and dietary needs. The Alexander’s in-room dining menu will also focus on nourishing options featuring fresh, local ingredients.

In addition, Martindale will also direct menu development for meetings, weddings and events at The Alexander. Unlike typical hotel service, catering at The Alexander will feature fresh and innovative options made to order.
