STATE COLLEGE, Pa., December 5, 2012
--Shaner Hotels will operate the new Marriott Courtyard Hotel and
Conference Center in the Rowan Boulevard revitalization project in
Glassboro, New Jersey.
Rowan Boulevard encompasses over $300 million in public and private investment and is the direct result of the unique partnership that evolved among the borough of Glassboro, New Jersey, Rowan University and the developer, Kinsley Equities. The hotel project is being developed by Kinsley Equities - which will lead the construction and development team with its affiliate Kinsley Construction - and Thomas Fore, founder and director of Sora Development. The development team is also the owner of the Rowan Boulevard student apartments, the Whitney Center mixed use building and the nearby Barnes & Noble building, managing leases with Rowan University and numerous retail locations. The completed project will be a mixed-use, walkable community that encompasses 27 acres in Glassboro. The boulevard will include a new town square designed for live concerts and community events while showcasing retail spaces for restaurants, fashion boutiques, office space, wellness and personal care centers, parking garages, grocery store, public park, and residential space for students, seniors and families in the Glassboro community for the ultimate in smart growth living. “The Courtyard by Marriott will complement our other Rowan Boulevard developments,” said Bob Kinsley, Managing Member of Kinsley Equities. “It will directly link Rowan University with the borough’s downtown retail district to create the quintessential college town.” Scheduled to open in Fall 2013, the hotel will be operated by Shaner Hotels, based out of State College, PA. Shaner operates several other hotel properties across the country on university campuses. “We’re excited to grow our university related hotel portfolio,” said Plato Ghinos, President of Shaner Hotels. “Over the years, we have established a record of accomplishment in operating hotels and working closely with universities.” The Courtyard by Marriott will offer 129 rooms, including eight suites, an adjoining 6,000 square foot restaurant and a first floor conference center with over 4,100 square feet in meeting space, fitness center, indoor pool, guest laundry, business center, and The MarketTM, a 24/7 shop for snacks and beverages.
