On 12/12/12, a representative from UW Marx, Inc. confirmed the hotel is
still in the early planning stage. They expect to move forward with
development within the next few months.
January 12, 2012
On 1/12/12, a representative from U.W. Marx Construction Company stated
that this project is moving forward but is still in the planning phase,
so they are unable to estimate when construction might begin.
March 22, 2010
As of 3/22/10, this project has been delayed after environmental
officials concerns over the affect of this development on the rivers
seaweed. The weeds, formally called submerged aquatic vegetation (SAV),
are vital habitat for fish and other marine life. The developer
recently submitted two revised plans. One plan has a smaller harbor and
the second plan has no harbor at all. The developer hopes to break
ground during the summer of 2010.
March 12, 2010
On 3/12/10, the city planning commission approved the final site plan.
This project is connected to an additional project that includes other
a $250 million to $300 million, 1.3 million-square-foot development.
