Hyatt Regency Philadelphia & Boyd Tamney Cross
Win Prestigious HSMAI Award

Direct mail provides group leads and impressive ROI for luxury city hotel
WAYNE, PA – (December 4, 2012)Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing and Boyd Tamney Cross (BTC), a 32-year-old full-service marketing firm, are slated to be honored by the Hotel Sales and Marketing Association International (HSMAI) for its excellence in hospitality marketing.

BTC will be presented with an Adrian Silver Award at HSMAI’s 2012 awards ceremony this January in New York City. The agency, a leading hospitality marketer for unique and luxury hotels and resorts, is recognized for creative and strategic use of direct mail to increase group sales for the luxury Philadelphia hotel.

“Since implementing BTC’s direct marketing strategy, current group business on the books has increased by 27 percent year over year,” said Ben Premack, director of sales and marketing at Hyatt Regency Philadelphia at Penn’s Landing. “Furthermore, the property has experienced incredible returns on the original spend, including 13:1 for room revenue and 30:1 for total revenue.”

Playing off of Hyatt Regency Philadelphia’s location and beautiful views, planners were sent a three-dimensional direct mail piece that included a View-Master personalized with images of the hotel, waterfront and city.

“Combining out-of-the-box creative with sound direct marketing strategies is without question one of the best ways to drive leads,” said Tom Cancelmo, president of BTC. “This is just one of many examples of how we’ve driven ‘heads on beds’ for our hospitality clients. And we’ll bet the house that we can increase reservations and ROI for other properties utilizing these tactics.”
