Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia Makes 4 New
Appointments to its Management Team

Managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts

Leesburg, Va. – September 12, 2012 – Lansdowne Resort, an IACC-certified conference center in Leesburg, VA, today announced the addition of several key leaders in a variety of departments. Kevin Blake has been named the director of food and beverage; Steve Kisner is the new director of catering; Richard Manzolina will serve as the director of facility operations; and Philip Monteforte has been named sous chef. Lansdowne Resort is managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts.

Blake arrived at Lansdowne after serving the last two and a half years as the director of food and beverage at fellow Destination Hotels & Resorts property, Wild Dunes Resort, in Charleston, SC. Possessing extensive career experience in the hospitality industry, Blake has fulfilled similar roles at the Boar’s Head Inn in Charlottesville, VA; the Fairmont Hotel and the Monarch Hotel in Washington, DC; and as an executive chef with ANA Hotels, also in Washington, DC. Blake attended Northern Virginia Community College and also earned certifications from the Darden School of Business for service excellence and from Cornell University for strategic hospitality management. Blake is also a certified sommelier. He started his new position on September 10.

Prior to joining Lansdowne, Kisner spent more than a decade as the director of catering and convention services with Hyatt properties in Northern Virginia and California. He most recently served in that role with the Hilton Crystal City in Virginia. Kisner assumed his new role on August 20.

Manzolina possesses more than two decades of experience in facility management, most recently with the Willard Intercontinental in Washington, DC. He also served as the director of engineering at the Gaylord National Resort and Convention Center at National Harbor, Md. Manzolina spent more than a dozen years with Hilton Corporation, including properties in the Washington, DC area, and has authored numerous articles in the field of hospitality facility management. He is a graduate of Cornell University’s School of Hotel Administration and has returned to the campus in recent years as an instructor and guest lecturer. Manzolina started in his new position on August 13.

Monteforte arrives at Lansdowne Resort after spending nearly 10 years as sous chef at The Homestead Resort in Hot Springs, VA. He is a graduate of the Pennsylvania Culinary Institute and is seeking an additional degree in culinary management.

“We are extremely excited about the experience level and leadership qualities each one of these hospitality professionals will add to our team,” said Lloyd Williams, General Manager at Lansdowne Resort. “These are all key additions to our staff and each person will play a major role in the high service standards and guest experiences we expect to deliver to our leisure and group guests each and every day. This is part of a new era for Lansdowne and we are proud that each of these new team members are part of it.”
