Denver, Colorado's 80-room Oxford Hotel Appoints
Afsi Bird as General Manager

Denver, Colo. (September 14, 2012)
– Denver’s Oxford Hotel is thrilled to announce that Afsi Bird has been appointed as General Manager of the historic 80-room hotel.

Bird joins The Oxford from Hotel Terra Jackson Hole in Teton Village, Wyoming, a luxury eco-boutique hotel where she had served as General Manager since it opened in 2007. Prior to that, she served as the Director of Rooms at the Four Seasons Resort San Diego Aviara, the Four Seasons Resort The Biltmore Santa Barbara and the Four Seasons Resort Scottsdale at Troon North. She also held several management positions over nine years at the Four Seasons Hotel Newport Beach.

Fluent in both German and Farsi, Bird is a graduate of Hoeher Handel Schule in Aachen, Germany.

“We are thrilled to have Afsi and her extensive luxury hotel experience at The Oxford,” said Vincent Piro, the Divisional Vice President for Sage’s Premier & Lifestyle Hotels division. “The Oxford truly is a Denver gem and we’re confident that Afsi will continue to raise the profile and performance of this unique and remarkable downtown property.”

The Oxford was recently featured on Condé Nast Traveler’s Gold List 2012 as one of the “World’s Best Places to Stay.”

Originally opened in 1891, The Oxford Hotel offers 80 individually decorated guest rooms, with unique features such as claw foot bathtubs, floor-to-ceiling Chinese silk curtains and French and English antiques. The hotel is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and houses an extensive collection of Western American art.

Located in the heart of Denver’s LoDo neighborhood, the hotel is home to 10,000 square feet of flexible meeting space and the Oxford Club, Spa & Salon, a full service day spa, hair salon and fitness center.
