Marriott Presents Awards to 26 of its Select Service and Extended Stay Brands General Managers; Honors Awarded Include The Chairman's Award, General Manager of the Year, Opening Hotel of the Year, Hotel of the Year and Opening General Manager of the Year for Each Brand / July 2012

July 30, 2012 - Marriott International’s select service and extended stay brands; Courtyard by Marriott, Fairfield Inn & Suites, Residence Inn by Marriott, SpringHill Suites by Marriott and TownePlace Suites by Marriott gathered in Washington, D.C. last week to recognize and honor 26 of its top general managers. Coming as far as China and Russia, the honors for each brand included The Chairman’s Award which is given to the hotel with the highest overall satisfaction scores, General Manager of the Year, Opening Hotel of the Year, Hotel of the Year and Opening General Manager of the Year.

Prior to the award ceremony, the winners were treated to a sightseeing tour of Washington, D.C. that included attractions such as the Martin Luther King Jr. Memorial, Lincoln Memorial and Marriott headquarters. The evening ceremony was hosted at the Key Bridge Marriott and awards were presented by Arne Sorenson, president and chief executive officer, Marriott International. Also in attendance to applaud the general managers were leaders of the Americas, brands and operations.
