Worldwide today announced the appointment of Jorge Gutierrez as general
manager of the 222-room DoubleTree by Hilton Hotel Cariari San Jose in
Costa Rica. Gutierrez officially assumed the role on July 16,
2012, and reports to Danny Hughes, senior vice president, Caribbean,
Mexico and Latin America for Hilton Worldwide.Gutierrez most recently served as hotel manager at Hilton Mexico City Reforma, following his role as general manager of Hilton Garden Inn Tuxtla Gutierrez, where he oversaw the 2011 opening of this stunning hotel in Mexico. Prior to this, he spent five years as general manager of Hilton Villahermosa & Conference Center – another property he opened. With over 20 years of hospitality experience, Gutierrez joined Hilton Worldwide in 1999 to manage the conversion and serve as general manager of Hilton Cancun Golf & Spa Resort.
Gutierrez holds a bachelors degree in Tourism Management from Universidad Hispano Mexicana, in Mexico City, and speaks fluent English and Spanish.
