and will be Managed by Renascent Hospitality

McLean, Va. (August 3, 2012)
– Embassy Suites Hotels, the upscale, all-suites hotel brand, announced today the “topping out” of Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City, signifying that the project has reached its maximum height and the structural framework is complete. Developed by West Valley Lodging Initiatives, LLC, the 162-suite, seven-story hotel will stand at 3524 S. Market Street in West Valley City, Utah. The hotel, which is the focal point of a multi-million dollar, multi-phase revitalization project in downtown West Valley City, will be the first Embassy Suites in the state to feature the brand’s latest design concept, Design Option III. It is scheduled to open in December 2012 and construction on the project began in October 2011.

“We’re thrilled to partner with West Valley Lodging Initiatives on their first Embassy Suites property and to continue to grow our relationship with Renascent Hospitality, who has developed and manages multiple Hilton Worldwide properties,” said Jim Holthouser, global head of Embassy Suites Hotels and Full Service Brands, Hilton Worldwide. “It’s an honor to be at the center of the city’s revitalization project. Embassy Suites will provide a quality offering for business and leisure travelers for years to come.”

Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City is being constructed in the brand’s Design Option III style, which decreases the amount of land needed and creates efficiencies for both construction and operational costs. The innovative and flexible design features a variety of side-by-side suites, shotgun suites and one-room suites, in addition to a contemporary atrium area. Aside from the benefit to developers, these features further enhance the guest experience, as there is still a great sense of space and more natural light in guest rooms and public areas like the atrium. West Valley Lodging Initiatives (WVLI)’s partner, Renascent Hospitality, will manage the property; Taylor International, Inc. is the general contractor and provides construction management and Trans-Marketing Group, Inc. provides logistics and purchasing services for the hotel.

Embassy Suites Salt Lake – West Valley City is the cornerstone of Fairbourne Station, a $500 million mixed-use development encompassing 40 acres in the heart of West Valley City. When completed, the Embassy Suites will join 200,000 square feet of retail space, 200,000 square feet of office space, 1,000 urban residences, and Fairbourne Station Promenade, with four acres of urban lineal park and plaza space. A celebration of the topping out will be held today in conjunction with the grand opening of the adjacent Fairbourne Station Promenade. The special event for media and the public will be held from 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m., with a brief ceremony with the mayor and city manager at 10:30 a.m. followed by family activities and a hotel beam signing.

The hotel will feature all of the signature amenities standard at any Embassy Suites hotel, including free cooked-to-order breakfast each morning, a complimentary two-hour Manager’s Reception* each evening, two-room suites with a separate living area, private bedroom and wet bar fitted with a microwave, refrigerator and sink. Suites will also be equipped with two 42” LED/LEC high-definition televisions. The property will also offer 7,500 square feet of meeting space, a complimentary Business Center, an indoor saline pool, spa and fitness center. It will have a Shula’s Steak House as an on-site dining option for guests and Fairbourne Station visitors.

“Bringing in an Embassy Suites Hotel with its family and business traveler-friendly features will be a big draw for the new West Valley City downtown area,” stated Scott Somerville, President of Renascent Hospitality and Member for WVLI.  “We are excited to provide a top-notch facility for Fairbourne Station residents and visitors.”
