Lloyd Williams Named General Manager of the 310-key
Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Virginia

Resort is Owned by LaSalle Hotel Properties and
 Managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts

Leesburg, Va. – May 15, 2012
– Lloyd Williams, an accomplished hospitality industry veteran with more than two decades of experience at several notable resort and conference centers, has been named General Manager at Lansdowne Resort in Leesburg, Va., resort representatives announced today. Williams joins Lansdowne Resort after serving as the Managing Director at Innisbrook Resort near Tampa, Fla. The resort is owned by LaSalle Hotel Properties and managed by Destination Hotels & Resorts. Williams assumed his new role on
May 8.

“Lansdowne is the region’s iconic resort and meetings destination and one I have been familiar with over my years in the hospitality industry,” said Williams. “The resort has an experienced and dedicated staff and the finest recreational amenities. Those elements, combined with the strong, stable ownership of LaSalle Hotel Properties, and the expertise and resources of Destination Hotels & Resorts, made my decision to return to Virginia very easy.”

Prior to joining Lansdowne Resort, Williams enjoyed successful stints in executive management roles at various destinations including Amelia Island Plantation; The Woodlands Conference Center, Resort and Country Club in Texas; and Wintergreen Resort in Virginia. He has also served as the General Manager at Williamsburg Lodge in Colonial Williamsburg where he also oversaw Golden Horseshoe Golf Club in Virginia.

In addition to a strong sales and marketing background, Williams has extensive experience in implementing and overseeing successful revenue-generating programs across golf, spa, recreation, and club membership, and other platforms, impacting both leisure and group segments.

Lansdowne Resort is located in historic Loudoun County about 40 minutes west of Washington DC and eight miles north of Dulles International Airport. The AAA Four Diamond property is International Association of Conference Center (IACC) and Virginia Green certified and has 296 luxury guest rooms and 14 suites. Amenities and resort recreation include five restaurants; an Aquatic Complex with five pools and a waterslide; three tennis courts; 12,000 square foot Spa Minérale with 13 treatment rooms; and The Golf Club at Lansdowne with 45 holes of golf designed by Robert Trent Jones and Greg Norman, and managed by Troon Golf.
