Guestware Partners with Shiji Networks to Expand in China

Seattle, Washington, May 22, 2012— Guestware, developers of an integrated Guest Experience Management (GEM) software solution used by hospitality companies around the world, has selected Shiji Networks to represent the company in China. Shiji Networks, the largest hotel technology company in China, was chosen because of its deep understanding of the hospitality industry—it works with many of the large international chains as well as local ones.

The intense competition in China is driving hoteliers to find new ways to differentiate themselves from a service standpoint. Guestware enables hotels to improve service and achieve higher levels of guest satisfaction to be more competitive.

Chinese hoteliers are already leveraging the Guestware technology to improve service delivery and quality. Guestware has worked with Shiji to install its software at two large hotels in China and is rolling out to an international chain. Hotels that implement Guestware often report a reduction in guest problems and an increase in overall guest satisfaction.

“Guestware provides more accountability and follow-up to ensure guests are taken care of,” says Guestware vice president Mike Benjamin. “Although labor costs may be relatively low in China, more staff does not guarantee better service. Guestware allows hotel associates to work smarter, so the guest is always happy.”

Guestware’s new platform was built from the ground up to support many languages, including Chinese, a key requirement for Shiji and the growing market. Each user’s language preference is taken into account for the particular task performed. For example, a housekeeper can report a work order by phone in Mandarin while the engineer receives the request in Simplified Chinese or English on their cell phone. Guestware’s preventive maintenance and inspection checklists are also in Chinese to help hotels maintain quality and enhance guest satisfaction.
