News & Notes
|
April 19, 2012 (Planning/Approval)
On 4/19/12, a representative from Caruso
Affiliated Holdings confirmed this project has yet to start
construction. The developer recently finished paying off the loan for
this project, which they wanted to accomplish before moving forward.
They have not determined a general contractor or construction schedule
yet for the demolition and building portions.
May 31, 2011 (Planning/Approval)
On 5/31/11, a representative from Penfield
& Smith stated that this project has been approved for
construction, however, building permits have not been issued yet. The
developer has not selected a general contractor. They are securing
additional funding for construction and anticipate breaking ground
sometime after September 2011.
January 20, 2011 (Planning/Approval)
Due to the economy the developer decided to
scale back the size of the hotel from 192 to 186 rooms and move the
ballroom to the main part of the hotel instead of a separate room as
well as some other minor changes. He plans to present the revised plans
to the Montecito Planning Commission on 2/23/11.
March 17, 2010 (Planning/Approval)
On 3/17/10, the developer was granted a
one-year extension on the coastal development permit.
January 18, 2010 (Planning/Approval)
As of 1/18/10, construction remains stalled.
Demolition or excavation was supposed to begin January 2010, but county
officials have put it on hold.
July 17, 2008 (Planning/Approval)
On 7/16/08, the project went before the
Montecito Planning Commission and was continued until its meeting
scheduled for 8/6/08.
