THG Celebrates Grand Opening of DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe

Upon Completion of its Property-Wide Renovation, The Hotel Group Unveils Santa Fe's
Newest Hotel to Local Officials, Businesses and the Community;
The 130-room Property is the 10th Hilton Hotel in The Hotel Group's Portfolio

Santa Fe, N.M. — June 19, 2012 — Last week The Hotel Group (THG) hosted more than 250 visitors from businesses, associations and the community to unveil the capital city's newest lodging accommodation, the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe, located at 4048 Cerrillos Road. Hotel owner and manager THG kicked off its renovation celebration on June 12 with a ribbon cutting ceremony led by Simon Brackley, President and CEO of the Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce, followed by tours of the four-story, 130-room property.

VIPs enjoyed great food, entertainment and prize giveaways while touring the results of the transformational renovation, which turned the DoubleTree Santa Fe into a comfortable and exciting place to stay. All guestrooms, the lobby, Patina’s Restaurant, the Mezcal Lounge and 4,400 square feet of meeting space received an extensive makeover.

THG purchased the former Holiday Inn in December 2010. The DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe is the 10th Hilton-brand hotel managed by THG, and THG has earned several awards from Hilton for its DoubleTree by Hilton hotels, including the "Best Conversion Award" for the DoubleTree by Hilton Arctic Club Hotel Seattle-Downtown in 2010 and the “Hilton Hotels Corporation Developer of the Year” award in 2008. New Mexico is not unfamiliar to THG; the company has previously enjoyed success managing and repositioning properties throughout the state.

"The Santa Fe Chamber of Commerce is very pleased to welcome the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe property to our community," Brackley said. " Visitors to Santa Fe can now enjoy the benefits of DoubleTree by Hilton hospitality as they see what makes Santa Fe a great place to live, work and stay."

Steve Caalim.

Jim Bradbury, Executive Director of the Santa Fe Convention and Visitors Bureau, had this to say: "The DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe is a welcome addition to the lodging mix in Santa Fe. The recent renovation has transformed the property and Hilton's reputation for excellence should assure success."

"We are honored to welcome everyone to the new DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe," said General Manager Steve Caalim. "Our friends in the local market and those among the business community are amazed by the change and are delighted to have a fresh, full-service hotel that brings quality and affordable accommodations to Santa Fe.

"We would like to thank THG for selecting DoubleTree by Hilton as the flag for this amazing new property, and our friends with the City of Santa Fe who continue to help us promote this exciting new destination," he said. "We would also like to thank our partners at Hilton for their commitment to hospitality and for developing a culture that makes travelers everywhere feel at home.”

Douglas Dreher, president and CEO of THG, said this is an opportune time to be investing in Santa Fe. “DoubleTree is the perfect brand for this hotel because it represents quality, comfort and class - all key attributes of hospitality,” Dreher said. “Harboring a fantastic location near downtown Santa Fe, this revitalized hotel sits at the gateway to some of the best arts and music venues in the nation. We encourage all travelers, meeting planners, local businesses and residents to come and see what the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe has to offer,” he said. “The transformation will impress everyone who walks through our doors.”

Property Description:
Only five miles from the Santa Fe Municipal Airport and six miles from downtown, the DoubleTree by Hilton Santa Fe is the perfect choice when exploring Santa Fe on business or pleasure. The property features a 24-hour business center, in-room Wi-Fi and an indoor/outdoor heated pool and spa. A DoubleTree by Hilton breakfast buffet is served daily in Patina’s restaurant.
