Anwar Elgonemy suggests ways for the real estate market to achieve
long-term success in bestselling new book,
"Skin in the Game: The Past, Present, and Future of Real Estate Investments in America"
SAN FRANCISCO – June 13, 2012 - With the decline in the United States’ economy, the real estate market is among those hardest hit. Anwar Elgonemy, who has worked on both domestic and international real estate financing projects, acquisitions and developments, strives to bring into focus the underlying fault lines in the financial system and real estate sector in “Skin in the Game: The Past, Present, and Future of Real Estate Investments in America” (ISBN 1463507658).
Elgonemy discusses five unresolved problems in the United States real estate market that plague the greater financial system. While discussing these troubling issues, he suggests concrete solutions as well. He looks at misconceptions about housing and the effects of negative home equity. He discusses delinquencies, defaults and foreclosures, which are problems a significant number of American households currently face. And he dissects commercial real estate debt maturities, covered bonds and private-label mortgage-backed securities.
What he concludes from his analysis is that the best strategy for minimizing debt risk in the United States real estate market is to implement a uniform risk assessment methodology. He believes that this would benefit lenders, borrowers, regulators and the government as a whole.
Elgonemy’s approach to the real estate crisis aims to jolt his readers into a thorough examination of his ideas and a new insight into possibilities for improving the US property sector. He is confident that the information provided in “Skin in the Game” will be beneficial to property lenders, investors and owners as they attempt to recover financially over the next few years.
Since its publication in March 2012, “Skin in the Game” has achieved the following:
