June 26, 2012, Hot Springs, Virginia - The Homestead has announced the appointment of Lesly Connolly as Director, National Associations. Arriving with more than 15 years of experience in the hospitality industry, Connolly recently received the PMPI President's Award to recognize her instrumental work over the past year. At The Homestead, her success will continue with a focus on developing fresh and innovative approaches to increase sales at the newly transformed resort. Connolly joins The Homestead from The Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa, where she was a Senior Sales Manager. Previously she served as opening Group Sales Manager at the Mason Inn Conference Center & Hotel at George Mason University in Fairfax, Virginia and as Convention Sales Manager of the DC satellite office of the Valley Forge Convention & Visitors Bureau. She has seen much success through her career in sales at various hospitality organizations, including Benchmark Hospitality, Interstate Hotels and independent boutique properties. An active and engaged professional, Connolly serves as Vice President of Communications for the Potomac Chapter of Meeting Professionals International, which named her to its board and honored her with a Rising Star Award in 2008. The National Capital Chapter of the Society of Government Meeting Professionals named her Supplier of the Year in 2007. Connolly earned an Associate of Science degree in Hospitality & Tourism Management from Bay Path College in Longmeadow, MA.
