SuperClubs Sells the 266-room Breezes Runaway Bay
in Jamaica to Sagicor Life Jamaica

Hotel to Remain Open During Transition

Kingston, Jamaica (April 17, 2012) — John Issa, Chairman of SuperClubs,  and Richard Byles, President and CEO of Sagicor Life Jamaica, announced today the sale of Breezes Runaway Bay to Sagicor, operators of the Jewel Dunn’s River Beach Resort and Spa.

SuperClubs  and Sagicor are working together to ensure a smooth transition of ownership with no interruption to service.   The property will be rebranded to The Jewel Runaway Bay Resort effective June 1, 2012.  The employees of the hotel will all receive redundancy packages from Breezes and be available for re-hire by the new operators.

Richard Byles sees great prospects for the property.  “This acquisition increases our investment in the hospitality sector and specifically on the North Coast. It is our intention to renovate and expand the hotel,” he explained.

Breezes Runaway Bay located in St. Ann has 266 rooms and suites all with private balconies overlooking lush gardens or pool. Located just about an hour away from the city of Montego Bay, the property is truly one Jamaica’s most celebrated all-inclusive resorts.  As the new owners of this hotel, Sagicor intends to expand its reach into the market.

SuperClubs, now operates Breezes Resorts – Breezes Grand Resort & Spa Negril in Jamaica; Breezes Bahamas; Breezes Búzios Resort & Spa in Brazil; Breezes Varadero, Breezes Balla Costa; Breezes Jibacoa in Cuba; and Hedonism II in Negril.  SuperClubs also operates and independently markets affiliate ROOMS resorts in Ocho Rios and Negril, and Jamaica’s Negril Beach Villa.
