Regent Hotels & Resorts Appoints Peter Finamore
as Senior Vice President of Operations

TAIPEI, TAIWAN – March 5, 2012
– Regent Hotels & Resorts has appointed Peter Finamore as Senior Vice President of Operations.  With more than 30 years of luxury hospitality experience across Asia, the Middle East and the Americas, Finamore will be responsible for leading the operational and financial performance of all Regent hotels globally.

From general manager to head of hotel operations positions, Finamore has a demonstrated expertise in mixed-use hotel, retail and residential developments. As General Manager of The Peninsula Beijing, the city’s first luxury hotel, Finamore was responsible for directing a team of more than 1,800 employees.  Under Finamore’s guidance, the hotel became the destination for the world’s top business and government leaders who visited the city.  Finamore played a significant role developing and implementing Beijing’s first ultra-luxury shopping complex, which featured more than 40 premium brands, quadrupling The Peninsula Beijing’s commercial revenue over the course of three years.

Finamore has effectively planned and overseen the opening of various luxury hotels.  As General Manager of The Peninsula Chicago, he directed the launch of the hotel and trained a team of more than 550 employees in the Peninsula culture.  The hotel was awarded the Mobil “5 Star” and AAA “5 Diamond” ratings in its first year in operation and was recognized as “The Best Luxury Hotel of the Year in the USA” by Zagat.

Finamore then took on the role of Senior Vice President of Operations of Boyd Gaming Corporation in Las Vegas where he was an integral member in the development of Echelon, a US$5 billion gaming property.  Finamore was responsible for selecting and leading a management team for the operation of three hotels and extensive support facilities.

Prior to joining Regent, Finamore was Managing Director at Rosewood Hotels & Resorts in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.  There, he was responsible for a team of more than 1,200 employees, the operation of three hotels and the management of fourteen restaurants and other integrated commercial and retail facilities.

While at Rosewood, Finamore spearheaded the conversion of the city’s leading residential apartment building into a new all-suite wing of the renovated Al Faisaliah Hotel of 330 rooms, making it the largest luxury hotel in Riyadh.  Under Finamore’s leadership, the Al Faisaliah Hotel received numerous awards including “Saudi Arabia’s Leading Luxury Hotel, 2011” by the World Travel Awards and “Best Luxury Hotel, 2011” an honour given by the Saudi Tourism Excellence Awards.

“We are fortunate to have someone with Peter’s expertise in both luxury hospitality and mixed-use facility operations join the Regent brand.  Combined with his global experience in current growth markets, he will be a key player in Regent’s expansion as we prepare for opening and operating bespoke, luxury, multi-use hotels in captivating locations,” said President Ralf Ohletz.

Finamore joins the Regent team during a time of growth and critical acclaim. All five of Regent’s managed hotels are included in Conde Nast Traveler’s 2011 Reader’s Choice Awards, a ranking of the top hotels and resorts in the world as chosen independently by readers of this luxury travel magazine.  The addition of Finamore at the helm of operations continues Regent’s goal to grow offerings of the finest bespoke hotels combining architecture and local environment with iconic, timeless design.
