A Full Exterior Renovation Tops off 2009 Interior Upgrades Completed at the
130-room Pullman Holiday Inn Express & Suites in Pullman, Washington

Managed by The Hotel Group

Pullman, Wash.—March 22, 2012
—There's a new hotel in town -- or one that "looks" brand new. The Pullman Holiday Inn Express & Suites, located at 1190 SE Bishop Blvd., recently completed an exterior renovation that has everyone in the area turning heads. With new siding and stone architecture elements, new decorative lighting and a new roof, the 130-room hotel, managed by The Hotel Group, has made a night-and-day transformation.

"The exterior renovation has been a year in the making, but certainly worth the wait,” said Pullman Holiday Inn Express Hotel and Suites General Manager Meghan Wiley. "Before people had to walk through our doors to see the vast improvements made to the property. Today the outside is now reflective of the great things happening inside. The quality of our hotel has transitioned from inside out to outside in, and guests are expressing that the property looks and feels brand new."

The Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites is situated less than one mile from Washington State University, less than four miles from WSU’s Palouse Ridge Golf Course, less than eight miles from the University of Idaho and only 10 minutes from the Pullman/Moscow (Idaho) Regional Airport.

In 2009, the property embarked on a large scale interior renovation. Guestrooms received new furnishings, fixtures and equipment, including: 32-inch flat screen plasma TVs, ergonomic desk chairs, carpet, drapes, wall paper, furniture, bedding, in-room microwaves and refrigerators. Guest bathrooms were equipped with new granite countertops, tiled floors, new tubs and vanities, while the lobby area received new tile flooring and carpet. Other public-space upgrades included new wallpaper and lighting in the guest hallways, along with new indoor pool/patio furnishings and new computers for the business center. With 1,100 square-feet of flexible meeting space, complimentary Express Start Breakfast each morning and evening cookies and milk, the Pullman Holiday Inn Express & Suites has cornered the market.

“The Pullman community is drawn to the Holiday Inn Express & Suites due to the superior guest service, as well as the completion of the transformational renovation," said Douglas Dreher, President and CEO of The Hotel Group. "This is a completely new facility from top to bottom and everything in between. Local ownership spared no expense when it came to investing in this property and the Pullman community. Their goal, to build a hotel that the university could be proud of, assuredly has been achieved. We are delighted with both the property's renovation and its performance.

Since opening in 1994, the Pullman Holiday Inn Express & Suites has earned numerous awards from the brand and its parent company InterContinental Hotels Group, including: Holiday Inn Express of the Year, Six Torchbearer Awards, General Manager of the Year, Director of Sales Manager of the Year, Housekeeping Manager of the Year, Breakfast Hostess of the Year twice, as well as multiple Quality of Excellence Awards.
