SILVER SPRING, Md. (March. 12, 2012)
– The Ascend Collection membership program from Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) is pleased to announce its first casino hotel, Cadillac Jack’s Gaming Resort , Deadwood, S.D.

The 103-room, full-service hotel is located in the heart of historic Deadwood. With an award-winning casino and the Black Hills as its backdrop, Cadillac Jack’s invites guests to hit the slopes in the winter, the trails in the summer and the gaming tables year-round.

“We’re delighted to add this exciting option for travelers who enjoy high-service hotels offering a true sense of the local culture,” says Stacy Ragland, vice president of operations, Ascend Collection. “We look forward to announcing other exceptional properties in the coming months.”

Membership in Ascend Collection grew 35 percent in 2011. This network of upscale independent hotels made its debut in late 2008. Today, it presents a carefully selected lineup of historic, boutique and unique hotels in the United States, Canada, Costa Rica and the Caribbean.

Year-Round Win
Cadillac Jack’s occupies a charming, redbrick building on historic Main Street with a full-service restaurant, state-of-the-art fitness center, indoor pool with hot tub and steam room, business center, and banquet and meeting space accommodating up to 300 guests.

The property’s 24-hour casino was voted the 2011 Best Casino in the Black Hills by readers of the Rapid City Journal. This facility boasts 181 slot machines, live blackjack and poker tables, weekly cash giveaways and a full-service bar. Its slot floor combines classic favorites with new machines incorporating the latest gaming technology. Adding to the excitement are daily poker tournaments and specialty table games like Three Card Poker Progressive with “envy bonuses.”

Guests choose from standard rooms and one- and two-bedroom suites with ample space for groups. All rooms are plush with pillow-top mattresses, high-definition flat-screen televisions and free Wi-Fi. Some rooms also have fireplaces and separate living rooms with sofa beds, hot tubs and wet bars.

Cadillac Jack’s guests are close to all the action. They can walk to the Days of ’76 Rodeo Grounds, attracting crowds to its museum and award-winning rodeo. The hotel is minutes from Deadwood’s top restaurants and shopping districts. Also convenient, WaTIki Waterpark draws families as the largest indoor water park in the Dakotas.

Lush forests blanket Deadwood’s surrounding hillsides, providing majestic venues for hiking, skiing, fishing and exploring. Less than five miles from Cadillac Jack’s, guests can witness the beauty of the Black Hills along the 109-mile Mickelson Trail, offering views of towering cliffs and crystal clear creeks. Minutes away, visitors hit the slopes of Terry Peak, one of South Dakota’s premier skiing and snowboarding destinations. For other spectacular vistas, Spearfish Canyon Scenic Byway showcases stunning waterfalls and thousand-foot-high limestone palisades. Also easy-to-reach: Mount Rushmore and the Crazy Horse Memorial, a tribute to Native Americans, featuring a North American Indian museum, cultural center, and an immense mountain-carving-in-progress of the legendary Lakota leader.

Ascend Collection appeals to the growing number of travelers who enjoy upscale hotels that spotlight the local culture. As part of this elite network, Cadillac Jack’s remains independently owned and managed, while also leveraging the power of one of the world’s largest hospitality companies. The resort gains exposure on the Choice Hotels international reservations and distribution systems. It enjoys visibility before a network of more than 14 million Choice Privileges rewards members worldwide.
