Amanresorts to Open Amanzoe in Summer 2012 on Greece's Peloponnese Peninsula

New York - March 8, 2012: Amanresorts, the Singapore-based luxury hotel group, announced today that it will open Amanzoe, a 38-suite resort near Porto Heli on Greece's Peloponnese peninsula, in summer 2012.

Amanzoe will be Amanresorts' 25th property and its third Mediterranean retreat - the Greek complement to Montenegro's Aman Sveti Stefan and Turkey's Amanruya. Drawing its name from the Sanskrit-derived word for "peace" and "zoe," the Greek word for "life," Amanzoe is situated on a hilltop close to the quaint town of Porto Heli on the east coast of the Peloponnese. Designed by renowned architect Ed Tuttle and comprised of the resort, an Aman Spa and, in the near future, a number of Aman Villas, Amanzoe offers panoramic sea views overlooking the island of Spetses and the Argosaronic Gulf beyond.

Just a 10-minute drive from Porto Heli, Amanzoe will also offer guests excursions to the nearby ancient archaeological sites at Asclepius, Epidaurus, Mycenae, Dendra, Kranidi, Tirynth, Lerna, the Temple of Hera and Nafplion. Additional guest activities on offer include island hopping, nature treks, sailing, water skiing and exploring local vineyards and farmer's markets.

Arranged around a central reflection pool, the resort's 38 guest pavilions are perched on different levels to maximize privacy and the breathtaking views over the Aegean. Each free-standing pavilion features its own private courtyard, high-ceilinged living and sleeping areas with marble-walled alcove beds and a private terrace with pergola. Each Pool Pavilion offers a six-meter pool and each Deluxe Pool Pavilion features a 12-meter pool. Amanzoe guests will also have access to the resort's private beach club, signature Aman Spa (incorporating Greek beauty rituals and local ingredients), several restaurants, library, art gallery and boutique.
