Andrew Quinto Recognized for Three Hospitality Industry
West Hartford, March 12, 2012 – Andrew Quinto of Konover Hotel Corporation was recently recognized with three distinct industry achievements. Mr. Quinto received his Certified Hotel Administrator designation from The American Hotel & Lodging Educational Institute. In addition, he was recently elected to the Under 30 Council of The American Hotel & Lodging Association and the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Lodging Association.
Mr. Quinto is the General Manager of the Microtel Inn & Suites in Uncasville, Connecticut. The 120-room hotel is owned by a Simon Konover-related entity and managed by Konover Hotel Corporation. The Microtel Inn & Suites is located near southeastern Connecticut's top attractions, including the Mohegan Sun Casino and Foxwoods Casino. The hotel celebrated its 10th anniversary last fall.
“Andrew’s leadership and managerial abilities have contributed to the ongoing success of this hotel,” said Peter H. Mason, CHA, Executive Vice President of Konover Hotel Corporation. “We are delighted that his hard work and professionalism have been recognized within the industry.”
Mr. Quinto received his Certified Hotel Administrator (CHA) designation based upon his specific industry knowledge and experience, as well as successful completion of a certification examination. CHA is the most prestigious certification available to a hotel general manager and hospitality executive.
“The CHA designation is highly respected within industry circles across the globe,” according to Mr. Mason. “We congratulate him on this significant career achievement.”
Mr. Quinto was elected to the Under 30 Council of the American Hotel & Lodging Association (AH&LA). According to AH&LA, The Under 30 Council, which was created in 2008, is comprised of emerging leaders from all sectors of the lodging industry. The mission of the Under 30 Council is to address the needs of young hospitality professionals through the development of unique resources, programs, and educational opportunities.
Mr. Quinto was also elected to the Board of Directors of the Connecticut Lodging Associating (CLA) for a two-year term ending 2014. The CLA is a trade association representing and promoting the lodging industry in Connecticut.
Mr. Quinto has been with Konover Hotel Corporation since 2006. He and his family reside in Bristol, Connecticut.
