Bedford, PA (January 24, 2012) - The Omni Bedford Springs Resort & Spa has appointed S. Lee Bowden, CHA, as General Manager. A passionate professional with 30 years of management experience at hotels and resorts around the world, Bowden oversees all operations at the historic address in the Allegheny Mountains of Pennsylvania. "We are fortunate to bring Lee's knowledge and passion to the Omni Bedford Springs Resort," said Eric DeStefano, Regional Vice President of Omni Hotels & Resorts. "I'm confident he will add much value while taking the guest experience to new heights." Bowden began his career in the sales department at the Waldorf Astoria Hotel in New York, where he was first a Convention Services Manager, then a Sales Manager. He moved on to the Woodstock Inn and Resort in Woodstock, Vermont, where he jumped from Director of Sales & Marketing to Resident Manager in just two years. His knowledge and passion led him to the positions of Vice President and General Manager at the Carambola Beach Resort in St. Croix and The Equinox in Manchester, VT; Managing Director at The Sagamore in Bolton Landing, NY; and President and Managing Director of the Gateway Canyons Resort in Gateway, CO. Bowden has served on the Resort Committee of the American Hotel and Lodging Association and the Board of Directors, in addition to other organizations including the Vermont Lodging and Restaurant Association, New England Innkeepers Association, Adirondack Chamber of Commerce, Lake George Convention and Visitors Bureau, and New York State Hospitality and Restaurant Association. Bowden earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Economics and Spanish from Hobart College and a Masters of Professional Study with an emphasis in Marketing from the Cornell School of Hotel Administration, where he also participated in the Advanced Management Program.
