Olivia Brown, General Manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, Pennsylvania,
Receives 2012 Trumpet Award for Outstanding Achievement

PHILADELPHIA – (January 13, 2012)
– Olivia C. Brown, general manager of the illustrious Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, was recognized at the 20th Annual Trumpet Awards on January 7, 2012, saluting African American achievement. Brown received the esteemed Power-at-the-Front-Door Award, which honors outstanding hotel general managers. Held at the Cobb Energy Performing Arts Centre in Atlanta, the Trumpet Awards ceremony paid tribute to the accomplishments of black Americans who have significantly contributed to enhancing the quality of life for all.
 
A seasoned hospitality executive and Certified Public Accountant, Brown was appointed general manager of The Ritz-Carlton, Philadelphia, situated in the heart of historic downtown Philadelphia, in June 2011. “Olivia works steadfastly alongside the hotel’s talented staff to provide a rare, extraordinary level of hospitality to every guest,” said Iman P. Butler, director of sales and marketing for the luxury hotel. “Her commitment to excellence is a real inspiration."

Brown is currently an executive board member for the Philadelphia Convention & Visitors Bureau (PCVB), as well as a board member for The Greater Philadelphia Hotel Association (GPHA), and the Greater Philadelphia Tourism Marketing Corporation (GPTMC).
 
Hosted by Wayne Brady, the Trumpet Awards also honored leaders in business, public service, and entertainment, including Media Mogul Ted Turner; Newark, NJ Mayor Cory A. Booker; as well as humanitarians Emmitt and Pat Smith. The queen of soul Aretha Franklin and R&B singer Estelle were among the celebrity attendees.
