Chief Executive Officer. Previously a consultative advisor to Guarded

and former Vice President of North America Sales for
Nomadix, Brown will direct the launch of the company's new XcessPro
Multi Services Controller (MSC) -- the hospitality industry's

full-service solution that provides an Internet gateway, firewall, WAN
load-balancing
and traffic shaping from a single source. The company is most widely known as a value-added reseller of the NOMADIX access gateway, in addition to developing its Guarded Systems XcessPro On Demand Access Management software. "As we embarked on developing a first-of-its-kind, multi-functioning appliance for hospitality with an integrated platform, we needed the guidance and expertise of an industry veteran to help us bring the product to market," said Adnan Syed, Guarded Systems President. "Ian is a recognized industry leader when it comes to HSIA. His 30-plus years of experience in the high-tech industry, coupled with his recent executive role at Nomadix -- in which he was instrumental in transforming the company into a major provider of HSIA gateways for hospitality -- made him the perfect candidate to take the company into 2012 and beyond. We are thrilled to have him on board." As soon as Brown left Nomadix in 2009, he was recruited by Guarded Systems to advise on the design and development of the XcessPro MSC solution. Diverse Technology, Military Background Brown's impressive technology background includes Vice President positions with Martin Marietta International, Sawtek, and Winnet MCS, and Senior Management posts at NSA, Masscomp, Harris, Netspeak, Wellfleet-Bay Networks and Cacheflow. He has been a key to the success of many of these businesses getting beyond the start-up phase and maturing into successful organizations. A career start in the military-defense industry as an engineer and business development executive, Brown developed a deep understanding of the aerospace industry, and became well-versed in project management, business development and marketing. This led to an expertise in dealing with International clients and sales strategies in complex environments. When he's not strategizing for Guarded Systems, Brown can be found billfishing on his 67-foot Hatteras with his wife and Golden Retriever. Brown holds a Bachelor and Masters degree in Electrical Engineering from the University of South Florida and is a graduate of the Harris Executive MBA program at the University of Florida.
