News for the Hospitality Executive |
MIAMI – January 24, 2012 – Hilton Miami Airport, a 508-guest room and suite hotel situated on a private peninsula on Blue Lagoon in South Florida, has recently completed guest room revitalization and property enhancement to the tune of $15 million. The makeover features a new fitness center with techno savvy equipment, guest elevators and hotel guest rooms and suites. The hotel’s lobby bar is slated for completion in late summer with upgrades and new design elements. The renovation is part of a three-year, $3 billion plan of significant property renovations currently underway across the global portfolio of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the flagship brand of Hilton Worldwide. “We have listened to our frequent travelers and our most loyal hotel guests and have designed our enhancements with their comfort in mind,” said Raul Aguilera, general manager, Hilton Miami Airport. “Our focus has been to enhance the guests experience by creating a more relaxing, friendly and comfortable hotel experience.” The hotel’s natural surroundings provide a tropical accent to an impressive airport property. Overlooking a natural lagoon teeming with a variety of local flora and fauna including manatees, iguanas and tropical birds, Hilton Miami Airport’s reinvention pays homage to its natural surroundings. Floor to ceiling windows were installed in the hotel’s new fitness center allowing guests to enjoy the Florida sunshine, outdoor gardens and pool area. The new guest room design features sustainable products to support energy efficiency while complimenting contemporary decor in a nature inspired, earth-tone color palette, alongside dark wood furnishings, and colorful and vibrant accents of reds and oranges like the burning Florida sunset. All guest rooms – many offering city views of the sparkling downtown skyline – are well-appointed, welcoming guests in a relaxed, contemporary setting. The rooms are outfitted with energy efficient thermostats and lighting, Hilton Serenity collection’s plush-top beds and down duvets, wireless Internet access, a 37” high-definition flat screen television, and a Hilton alarm clock with MP3 player connection, as well as a sitting area, work desk, and laptop-size in-room safe. Guest bathrooms have also been fully renovated evoking a spa-like feeling with glass enclosed showers and neutral ceramic tile throughout. The bathrooms feature all new granite bath and countertops, new fixtures and built-in shelving stocked with Hilton’s new signature Peter Thomas Roth bath amenities. To be sure hotel guests can remain powered up and connected even during workouts, the hotels fitness center added state-of-the-art cardio and strength training equipment by Precor with the ability to connect to iPhone, iPod or iTouch and other devices to listen to music or stream movies and charge the battery at the same time. The Hilton Miami Airport is beautifully situated on a private 12.5-acre tropical peninsula surrounded by a 100-acre fresh water lake. The hotel provides the perfect combination of business services in a resort like atmosphere and is ideal for company meetings and leisure travelers alike. The hotel offers a variety of dining outlets including Coral Café for casual dining, The Cove lounge and the Blue Lagoon Saloon pool bar. Centrally located, the hotel is only minutes from Downtown Miami, Coconut Grove, South Beach and Art Deco District area.
