Barcelona, 22th February 2012 -  The Hotusa Group, hand-in-hand with its hotel chain, Eurostars Hotels, has disembarked in Colombia for the purpose of operating a luxury hotel located in the very centre of Bogotá, in the newly constructed BD Bacatá building, which aspires to become the new icon of urban development in the Colombian capital’s historic centre.
 
This architectural complex, the property of BD Bacatá and the work of the prestigious Catalan architecture studio, Alonso-Balaguer y Arquitectos Asociados, comprises two towers, one of them, in which the hotel will be located, to be the highest in Colombia, with 66 floors taking up a total space of 114,384 m2. 40 floors will be used by the future hotel.
 
With its opening forecast for 2014 and 5-star category parameters, the hotel will provide a total of 323 rooms (19 of which will be suites) and a surface area of more than 3,000 m2 for events and conventions distributed amongst 16 reception rooms. In addition, the establishment will offer a 550 m2 spa & wellness area, while also dedicating 800 m2 to restaurants and catering in a space that will house two gourmet restaurants and two lounge bars.
 
Located in the best, newly renovated area of the city, Nº 5-20 on 19th Street, the complex will have five different uses: housing, offices, hotel (with a conventions centre), shopping mall and car park (private and public). Thus, the promotion will comprise, in addition to the hotel, 396 apartments, 117 offices, over 700 parking lots and a shopping mall with 30 shop units.

The project signifies the fourth incursion by Eurostars Hotels into a Latin American destination, where it is already operating through its hotel management division in Argentina, Peru and Mexico.
