Oct. 24, 2011--A group of local investors has purchased the Doubletree Hotel Riverside and will rename it The Riverside Hotel. Riverside Hospitality LLC said it plans a number of changes, including: -- Improved landscaping. -- Installation of flat-panel, high-definition TV in guest rooms. -- Improved high-speed wireless Internet in the convention and public areas and guest rooms. Kristen Jensen, a principal in Riverside Hospitality, said the company plans longer-term improvements "to return this hotel and convention center into a premier business and family destination." Johnson Brothers Hospitality, which owns and operates the Hilton Garden Inn in Eagle, is one of Riverside Hospitality's members and will manage the Riverside Hotel. The hotel at 2900 W. Chinden Blvd. sits on 14.5 acres along the Boise River and has 303 rooms.
