News for the Hospitality Executive |
MIDDLETON, Wis., Oct. 4, 2011-- On
the heels of its 30th anniversary, owners, developers and operators of
exceptional hotels, The North Central Group, announces changes to its
leadership team.
The company's leadership transition begins with Jonathan Bogatay stepping into the role of CEO (Chief Executive Officer). Says David Lenz, owner and founder, "For the past 12 years, Jonathan has proven his constant commitment and ability to successfully lead The North Central Group toward its mission as a premier hotel management and development company. I am very happy to pass the baton to him in this capacity." Jeff Lenz will take the reigns as President and continue his responsibilities as CDO (Chief Development Officer). Keith Osborne, who joined the team earlier this year, will continue to lead the Property Operations and IT teams as Senior Vice President and COO (Chief Operations Officer), leveraging his more than 20 years of senior level hospitality experience and active involvement in the third-party management arena. Mark Lenerz was promoted to Vice President of Finance & Administration earlier this year. The final piece to the leadership transition is the departure of CFO Jane Braatz as she begins to write a new chapter in her career story. Says Jonathan Bogatay, "Jane has given this company and its team members an incredible 23 years, and we know she will continue to create great success throughout her distinguished career." The transition of CEO from David Lenz to Jonathan Bogatay offers Lenz the opportunity to dedicate more time and energy to effectively managing the company's debt and equity needs, assist with long-term strategic planning, travel occasionally and enjoy time with his grandkids. A newly formed Advisory Board will provide counsel and support for ongoing strategic thinking and long-range planning, with Lenz serving as Chairman of the Board. In addition to Jonathan Bogatay and Jeff Lenz (as the Lenz family representative), the following round out the Advisory Board: Darryl Lapointe, founding president and CEO of Highpointe Hotel Corporation; Ray Schultz, former CEO of Promus Hotel Corporation and founder of the Hampton Inn brand; Retired Major General Al Wilkening, former Adjutant General of Wisconsin; and Jay Loewi, CEO of The QTI Group of Madison, WI. Jonathan Bogatay says, "We are fortunate and proud to be celebrating the company's 30th anniversary this year. This milestone prompted us to really think about what's ahead - what we want to accomplish and how we might get there. This leadership transition puts us in the perfect position to embark on the next 30 years as we prepare our company and our team members for the next generation of hospitality."
