Kimpton Hotels & Resorts Set to Raise Flag on Surfcomber Miami, South Beach
 Following Complete Property Renovation

MIAMI--October 31, 2011--Kimpton Hotels & Restaurants brings its signature service and whimsical spirit to South Beach as it raises its flag on its newest oceanfront lifestyle hotel in Florida, the Surfcomber Miami, South Beach, on December 1, 2011. Following a top-to-bottom renovation of this popular South Beach classic, the new Surfcomber will offer guests a stylish and playful escape within a trilogy of sun, surf, and sand.

The new Surfcomber will join Kimpton’s two other Florida hotels, the ultra-sophisticated and top rated EPIC in Downtown Miami, and the luxurious Vero Beach Hotel & Spa. Together, the three provide Kimpton brand loyalists with something for everyone.

Kimpton’s New Surfcomber Set to Unveil as South Beach Undergoes its Own Renewal

As South Beach experiences a period of revitalization and renewal of its own, Surfcomber is among the first hotels along historic Collins Avenue to reveal its new look and personalized approach to service. Surfcomber’s new design-driven spaces marry the eclectic style of European Bohemia with a down home American front porch appeal. The design creates an inviting and comfortable atmosphere, with elements of surprise throughout. Combined with Kimpton’s warm and welcoming service, the hotel offers guests a retro, breezy atmosphere and a distinctive South Beach experience that is as cool as it is friendly, and as sexy as it is fun.

“The new Surfcomber brings to South Beach all the things visitors to the area desire most – a sultry and stylish hotel that is dynamic and fun, yet inviting and authentic,” said Sean McKeen, general manager at the Surfcomber. “Together with the enticing surf that inspired our name, it all makes for the ultimate playground under the sun.”

Surfcomber sits on the Atlantic Ocean’s edge along 200 feet of oceanfront property in the heart of the Art Deco District. The hotel’s heated pool and expansive outdoor deck surrounded by spacious cabanas remain a signature element of the Surfcomber, providing a sublime setting for sipping cocktails while sun-worshiping poolside. Inside, the Surfcomber gives guests a place to relax and re-charge in its 186 guest rooms with luxurious Frette bed linens and featured bath products by European fashion designer, Etro. Guests will also enjoy the diverse mix of dining options, including a Southeast Asian street fair inspired restaurant concept.

As with other Kimpton hotels, Surfcomber is also pet-friendly, welcoming four-legged guests and providing them with their own services and amenities upon registration at no extra cost, including VIP (Very Important Pet) amenity; pet bowl and pet bed. For guests traveling alone, Kimpton’s Guppy Love Program at Surfcomber offers guests the opportunity to request a live goldfish – fed and cared for by the hotel staff - to stay overnight in their guestroom.

Surfcomber guest amenities also include all of Kimpton’s favorite guest offerings such as its personalized guest preferences, Forgot It? We’ve Got It! menu of travel essentials, creative mini bars with healthful and organic options, complimentary Wi-Fi to Kimpton InTouch members, morning coffee and tea service in the living room, hosted evening wine hour daily, and health-minded wellness options, such as complimentary on-demand yoga, Pilates and meditation television channels, along with a yoga bag filled with accessories for use during a guest’s stay.

Surfcomber guests can also take advantage of the hotel’s 24-hour in room dining, 24-hour on-site business center, and 24-hour valet service. In addition, Surfcomber has implemented Kimpton’s more than 100 environmentally responsible operational practices under the Kimpton EarthCare program, which has been proven effective in reducing waste, energy and water consumption nationwide.

To book a stay at Kimpton’s new Surfcomber, a special grand opening rate has been created. Available for booking through January 31, 2012, rates start at $149 and $199 depending on dates of stay, with some blackout dates.
