The DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin Completes First Phase of $5.4 Million
Renovation with 188 Upgraded Suites, Improved Amenities and its New Name

AUSTIN, TX – (October 17, 2011)
–  One of the most popular hotels in Texas’ capital city – the newly upgraded DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin – has “turned over a new leaf” this fall by introducing a collection of newly renovated guest rooms along with new signage, new amenities and new touchpoints throughout the property that locally represent a new energy behind a global rebranding initiative underway by a worldwide DoubleTree by Hilton portfolio of more than 265 hotels in 21 countries.  Today’s guests are now welcomed with 188 upgraded suites at the now 100% smoke-free hotel featuring new soft goods, fully refreshed kitchens, updated furniture and new high-definition televisions.

For travelers who occasionally suffer from allergies and asthma, the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin also is introducing an entire floor of 21 PURE rooms, which create an allergy-friendly environment that removes up to 98% of bacteria and viruses, promoting a more restful sleep during their stay

Gregg Saunders, hotel general manager, said: “We’re very proud to represent the positive momentum of the DoubleTree by Hilton global rebranding initiative here at the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin.  By listening to frequent travelers and our most loyal hotel guests, we will continue to introduce new amenities and services beyond this first phase of our renovation that enhance hotel arrivals and departures, provide more healthy and sustainable food options, continue our passionate commitment toward sustainable business practices and ultimately create a more relaxing, friendly, comfortable and rewarding hotel experience for everyone who stays with DoubleTree by Hilton.”

Following the completion of this project in the first quarter of 2012, guests will be able to enjoy a completely rejuvenated DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin experience – from entrance to check out. Additional phases in the renovation project will include enhancements to the hotel entrance; lobby and public areas; front desk check-in; and meeting and event spaces as well as an expansion of the gift shop and business center. The hotel’s popular 15th Street Café serving up American and Southwestern cuisine will also undergo a modernization with the addition of a stylish new lounge and patio.

DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin provides Texas-sized hospitality to guests through its apartment-like guest suites and a variety of other amenities available at this downtown Austin hotel. Located in within walking distance to the Texas State Capitol, the DoubleTree Suites by Hilton Austin is in close proximity to the University of Texas, Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and all of the wonderful local attractions available in downtown Austin. With gorgeous balcony views of the Texas State Capitol, the hotel provides an ideal location for families and business travelers alike.
