News for the Hospitality Executive
PARSIPPANY, N.J. (November 10, 2011) – Wyndham Hotel Group, LLC, the world’s largest hotel company based on number of hotels and part of Wyndham Worldwide Corporation (NYSE: WYN), today announced the introduction of its TRYP by Wyndham hotel brand to Central America with the opening of its first hotel in the region, the 98-room TRYP San José Sabana, in the heart of San José, Costa Rica.
The addition of TRYP San José Sabana expands the select-service hotel brand’s Latin American portfolio, which currently consists of 14 TRYP by Wyndham hotels open and operating in South America.
“The opening of the first TRYP by Wyndham hotel in Central America is an important milestone in our growth strategy, which is to establish the brand in key cities throughout the Americas,” said Daniel del Olmo, Wyndham Hotel Group’s managing director of Latin America and brand senior vice president of TRYP by Wyndham. “San José, with its booming business and abundance of attractions, is an ideal Central American city in which to debut TRYP by Wyndham. Furthermore, TRYP San José Sabana is a wonderful representation of the signature style, first-rate service and convenient locations guests can expect from our brand.”
The four-star TRYP San José Sabana, conveniently located just 20 minutes from Juan Santamaria International Airport and ten minutes from downtown San José, gives guests direct access to the city’s business sectors and best-known attractions, including La Sabana Park, just one block from the hotel; Escazú, known for some of the area’s best shopping, dining and nightlife; and the city’s museums and theaters.
Spacious guest rooms and suites feature contemporary furnishings with large windows and picturesque city and mountain views; 37-inch, flat-screen televisions; complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access; laptop-sized safes; and coffee makers with traditional Costa Rican coffee. Additionally, the hotel offers the TRYP by Wyndham brand’s signature fitness rooms, equipped with elliptical machines, treadmills or stationary bikes and complimentary workout gear, as well as oversized family rooms with bunk beds for children and large, separate beds for adults.
Guests at TRYP San José Sabana can utilize the hotel’s on-site fitness center, business services, complimentary wired and wireless high-speed Internet access throughout its public spaces, a gift shop and free, private parking. Guests can dine daily at the on-site Gastro Bar en la 38, featuring a premium breakfast buffet, a wide variety of wines and cocktails and tapas-style dishes inspired by local and international flavors.
The hotel offers 500 square meters (nearly 5,400 square feet) of flexible meeting and event space that can accommodate up to 280 people. Each meeting room is equipped with the latest in audio-visual technology, including high-speed Internet and video projection systems.
The TRYP by Wyndham brand will continue its expansion in the Americas with the opening of its first location in the United States, the 173-room TRYP New York City Times Square South, later this year. Additional properties are scheduled to open in Panama City, Panama, and Bogotá, Colombia, in early 2012.
