HEI Hotels & Resorts Appoints Scott Larsen as General Manager
of the 410-room Crowne Plaza San Antonio in Texas

NORWALK, Conn., November 29, 2011
—HEI Hotels & Resorts (HEI), the nation’s fastest growing private owner/operator of hotel real estate, today announced the appointment of Scott Larsen as general manager of the 410-room Crowne Plaza San Antonio.

A veteran hotelier, Larsen joined HEI after 11 years with InterContinental Managed Hotels, where he most recently served as the general manager of the Holiday Inn San Antonio International Airport.   There he directed the hotel through a $6 million renovation and led sustainability initiatives that earned national recognition for the hotel and a spot on IHG’s global green team for Larsen.

“In addition to being an accomplished general manager, Scott has been leading the drive to develop San Antonio as a premier destination through his participation with and leadership of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association,” said Ted Darnall, HEI’s chief operating officer.  “His experience in the market and with IHG hotels made him the perfect choice to lead this landmark Riverwalk hotel.”

In addition to serving as president of the San Antonio Hotel and Lodging Association, Larsen is on the board of directors of the San Antonio Tourism Council, and was appointed to the Convention and Visitor’s Commission by the City of San Antonio.

The 21-story building, located at 111 Pecan Street, features an elevated, outdoor pool overlooking the famed Riverwalk, a sauna, whirlpool and full-service fitness facility.  Its extensive food and beverage services include an upscale restaurant, lobby lounge, high energy sports bar and extensive catering capabilities.  The oversized hotel rooms offer high-speed Internet access, large work desks and two telephone lines.  The property includes two separate garages with a combined capacity of approximately 600 vehicles.  The hotel has the city’s third largest amount of meeting space with 38,000 square feet, capable of handling groups of up to 1,000 people.
