News for the Hospitality Executive |
NAPLES, Fla. (November 30, 2011)
– Located in downtown
Naples, Florida, The Inn on Fifth has begun construction on a $15
million
expansion project that will add new suites and meeting space for
guests, and
more retail locations for the popular shopping, dining and
entertainment
district of Fifth Avenue South. The
largest redevelopment effort on Fifth Avenue South since the start of
the 2008
financial crisis, the milestone project involves the construction of a
new
three-story, 40,000-square-foot building directly across Fifth Avenue
from the
Inn’s landmark location. The building
will include the Inn’s new 32 Club Level Suites – the first new hotel
rooms in
Naples since 2008 – plus an 800-square-foot executive board room, and
12,000
square feet of retail space on the ground floor. The project is
expected to be completed in
November of 2012.
“We’re on the other side of a serious recession, the economy is growing, and our hotel is experiencing record occupancy – this is the right time for this expansion,” said Phil McCabe, owner of The Inn on Fifth. “The demand is certainly here. We’re excited that Chase Bank, a credit rated company, has already signed on as an anchor tenant in the new building.” It is hoped that, like the construction of The Inn on Fifth in 1998, this new expansion will serve as a catalyst for a new era of redevelopment on Fifth Avenue, McCabe added. The Club Level Suites will offer guests enhanced, upscale accommodations, along with all the outstanding amenities guests of the Inn on Fifth expect. Club Level guests will be greeted at the valet by the concierge and escorted to an exclusive Club Level check-in. They will also receive several added luxuries, including a private rooftop hot tub and sunbathing area, buffet breakfast, afternoon tea, afternoon snacks, and evening cocktails and appetizers. Under the direction of interior designer CVC Hospitality in Orlando, Fla., the suites will showcase transitional décor. Each suite will feature a private balcony, as well as the Inn’s standard amenities such as plush waffle-weave robes, complimentary newspapers, iPod alarm clock/docking station, lavish pillow-top mattresses, laundry service, complimentary Wi-Fi and valet parking. The first floor of the new building will feature retail space intended to add to Fifth Avenue’s impressive collection of shops, galleries and restaurants. A new executive boardroom will bring the Inn’s total meeting space to nearly 9,000 square feet. Guests and media can visit www.innonfifth.com for updates on the expansion.
