The $45 Million Reinvention of the 458-room Hilton McLean
Tysons Corner in Mclean, Virginia Nears Completion

MCLEAN, Va.  - November 30, 2011
—Entering the Hilton McLean Tysons Corner you can feel the difference.  The new lobby bar is bustling with networkers, business meetings and neighbors catching up on current events.  Large screen televisions broadcast the latest news while steps away in the Technology Lounge, flat screen televisions and computers connect guests to where they need to be, spitting out boarding passes to get them where they are going.

A recent $45 million reinvention project featuring the latest concepts in guest rooms design, food and beverage, technology and lobby/public spaces is nearing its finish line and hotel executives are pleased with results so far. The renovation is part of a three-year, $3 billion plan of significant property renovations currently underway across the global portoflio of Hilton Hotels & Resorts, the flagship brand of Hilton Worldwide. Hilton McLean Tysons Corner became the first Hilton property to introduce the brand’s new lobby design DNA earlier this year.

“With the opening of the new meeting spaces and ballrooms, Hilton McLean Tysons Corner has the opportunity to truly shine,” said Brian Kelleher, general manager, Hilton McLean Tysons Corner. “The new color palettes, lighting, and design create a beautiful iconic setting, allowing guests to create unique and memorable events.”

The top-to-bottom makeover is getting recognition, as the hotel was recently named one of AirTran Magazine’s GO best hotels to do business in the country.

This reinvention includes an additional 3,000 square foot junior ballroom added to the existing 27,000 square feet of renovated meeting space. The junior ballroom can accommodate up to 260 people and is divisible into three smaller breakout rooms. Additional enhancements include new energy efficient lighting and heating, ventilation and air conditioning system upgrades and new air walls for all meeting spaces including the 10,000 square foot grand ballroom with six possible configurations for accommodating events up to 1,300 people.

Along with the meeting spaces and ballrooms, guests are now enjoying a sophisticated living room-inspired lobby with an iconic 18-hour bar, Technology Lounge, and 458 redesigned guest rooms. The new interactive front desk experience offers a fresh sense of arrival in the heart of the capital region.
