Nov. 01, 2011--CRANSTON, R.I. -- The Procaccianti Group faces a federal lawsuit filed by a Pennsylvania competitor that alleges two of its former employees stole thousands of confidential documents before leaving to work for the Cranston hotel management company. Hersha Hospitality Management, in its Oct. 17 complaint, alleges that the executives created a "web of deception" before leaving to work for Procaccianti, the private real-estate developer that manages hotels for the Hilton, Holiday Inn, Westin and other chains. Hersha said it wants a U.S. District Court judge in Philadelphia to help it recover any lost documents and award it unspecified damages from Procaccianti and the executives -- one of whom had previously worked for Procaccianti before moving on to its Philadelphia-based competitor in 2010. ___ (c)2011 The Providence Journal (Providence, R.I.)
