The 196-room Plantation on Crystal River in Crystal River, Florida Names
Andrew Bartlett as General Manager and Michael Mancke
as Director of Sales and Marketing

December 2011 - The Plantation on Crystal River – a hidden gem along Florida’s Nature Coast, just 80 miles north of Tampa -  recently named Andrew Bartlett as general manager of the 196-room resort. In this position, Bartlett is responsible for directing all departments, operations, and revenue management at the 232-acre property. He is also overseeing the resort’s ongoing $3 million renovation project which is scheduled for completion on December 23, 2011.

Bartlett was most recently with the Kelley House, a 54-room historic hotel and pub in the heart of Edgartown, Martha’s Vineyard, where he worked as front office manager before becoming Innkeeper for the property.  Bartlett’s management career began in California with positions at the Su Nido Inn and Ojai Valley Inn and Spa. Since his arrival in Crystal River, Bartlett has joined a newly developed city government affairs panel to work closely with Crystal River and the county to address the needs of businesses in the community.

Originally from Amherst, New Hampshire, Bartlett graduated from the University of New Hampshire with a B.S. in Tourism Planning & Development. 
 
Michael Mancke, a 25-year veteran of the tourism industry, has been named the resort’s director of sales and marketing. Mancke is responsible for a team of six and oversees 12,000 square feet of meeting and event space at the property.

Prior to joining the Plantation, Mancke was director of Florida sales for Miles Media Group, an innovative publishing partner for destinations, providing integrated online and print solutions.  At Miles Media, Mancke managed the VISIT FLORIDA sales team, which serviced all in-state DMOs and tourism-related business. From 1985 to 2007, Mancke worked with a number of national hotel and resort companies, including ARAMARK Harrison Lodging/Parks & Resorts, Boykin Hotels & Resorts, Interstate Hotels & Resorts, MeriStar Hotels & Resorts, and South Seas Resorts Company.

Mancke has also worked for Destination Daytona!, the area’s convention and visitor’s bureau, as the director of tour and travel sales. Mancke sits on the tourist development committee of the Crystal River/Citrus County Chamber and is on the marketing & sales committee for the Visit Citrus CVB.

Originally from Knoxville, TN, Mancke attended the University of Tennessee studying math/computer science and engineering physics.
