2011…The International Hotel, Motel + Restaurant Show®
(IHMRS) has named
finalists for the 31st annual Gold Key Awards for Excellence in
Hospitality Design, selected from among 150 projects in 24
countries.
Gold Key honors are presented annually to design firms representing the
most
innovative hospitality properties completed or renovated within the
past 18
months. Winners will be revealed and finalists recognized at a
breakfast
ceremony on Monday, November 14, 2011, 7:30 – 9:30 am, at the
InterContinental
New York Times Square. The Gold Key Awards are sponsored by Interior
Design and HOTELS
magazines and coincide with the 96th
annual IHMRS, taking place November 12-15, 2011, at New York City’s
Jacob K. Javits
Convention Center .
The 31st annual Gold Key Awards finalists are: Guest Room
Judges for the 2011 Gold Key Awards were Carl D’Aquino, D’Aquino Monaco; Stephanie Goto, STEPHANIEGOTO; and Gerard Greene, Yotel. Finalists were selected based on aesthetic appeal, practicality and functionality of design. Highlighting the breakfast ceremony, Gold Key sponsors Interior Design and HOTELS magazines will present the 2011 Designer of the Year distinction to San Francisco-based BAMO, a firm with an international reputation for exceptional design of luxury hospitality properties, including The Carlyle in New York, the Four Seasons Resort Bora Bora, The Taj Mahal Hotel & Towers in Mumbai, India, and many more. In addition, NEWH, Inc., the Hospitality Industry Network, will present its 7th annual Icon of Industry Award to Fabricut, Inc. President Harvey Nudelman, an influential leader in the textiles and hospitality industries for more than 50 years. A $5,000 scholarship in Harvey’s name will be awarded to a student focusing on a career in the hospitality industry.
