Enchantment Resort in Sedona, Arizona Deputs Phase Two of Property-wide
Renovation with $11 Million Guest Room Refurbishment

September 22, 2011 (Sedona, Arizona)
- Enchantment Resort, part of the Enchantment Group portfolio of award-winning properties, is debuting the second phase of a property-wide renovation with an $11 million refurbishment of all 218 guest rooms. The work, with designs inspired by Native American traditions and the surrounding beauty of Boynton Canyon, includes new state-of-the-art technologies as well as linens, décor, bathrooms and indoor and outdoor patio furniture. The guest room enhancements follow a $4 million expansion of the resort's onsite Meeting Village, which now boasts indoor meeting and group space exceeding 13,000 square feet, with an additional outdoor banquet space of more than 20,000 square feet.

Phase II of the renovation was overseen by Flick Mars, a Dallas-based boutique interior design firm specializing in hospitality and leisure facilities in the U.S. and around the world. The design team's vision was to bring the outdoor panorama into the interior by mixing a natural color palette with glass and open-air designs that encourage guests to explore Enchantment's natural surroundings.

"The newly enhanced guest accommodations convey a nature-inspired canvas that showcases Enchantment Resort's commitment to create an authentic Sedona experience," said Mark Grenoble, President of Enchantment Group. "Additionally, the use of traditional and local artwork shares the region's unique culture with our guests."

New interiors also showcase a modern adaptation of furniture styles and fabrics, which stand out against the resort's adobe walls in a tailored, regional style: seating combines wood, leather and upholstered fabrics reflective of the area's outdoors; custom lighting elements of crystals and metal complement decorative fixtures derived from local jewelers; and artistic materials and details are fused with uncomplicated lines and forms to maintain the balance between history and clean-lined comfort.

Guestroom bathrooms, the largest undertaking of the redesign, were completely renovated. An expanded layout with raised ceilings opened up the space to allow even more natural light. Suite bathrooms now showcase five fixtures including a soaking tub and walk-in shower.

Other notable interior design highlights inspired by the local landscape and native culture include:

  • Vanity tops of rare onyx inspired by the red rock walls of Boynton Canyon
  • Door panels and living room area rugs featuring design patterns that depict traditional basket weaving
  • Fireplaces exhibit indigenous tule sculptures made by the ancient process of weaving boiled tule, a waterside long grass, into symbolic shapes
  • Queen bedrooms display paintings of the two-feather symbol which signifies the coming together of the Yavapai and Apache tribes, who originated in Boynton Canyon
  • Custom lamps made with hammered metal finishes represent Native American silver jewelry
  • Headboard designs mirror the sun symbol of the Yavapai nation
  • Native American pattern tapestries hang on arrow hardware in the dining rooms
Additionally, the resort added technological enhancements to the guest room experience with 42-inch HDTVs, custom desk lamps with plug in capability for recharging electronics, and BOSE iPod docking stations to assure top quality sound.

Guests at Enchantment Resort continue to receive complimentary morning orange juice delivered to their room with the daily newspaper, as well as bottled water at turn down.

Rates at Enchantment Resort start at $350. For more information or to make reservations please visit www.enchantmentresort.com or call 800.826.4180.
