U.S. Department Of Commerce Posts Request For Proposals
From Vendors for the Administration of the Survey of
International Air Travelers Program

RFP Packages Due August 8, 2011

July 11, 2011 -  The U.S. Department of Commerce today announced a request for proposals (RFP) from vendors for the administration of the Survey of International Air Travelers (Survey) program. The Office of Travel and Tourism Industries’ (OTTI) goal is to improve the current Survey program which has been in existence since 1983.

The U.S. government’s objective is to assess the economic impact of international visitation, from passengers who travel to the United States, and those traveling from the United States, during a calendar year. The main purpose of the Survey is to provide data integral to:
  • Calculation of the international balance of trade (exports/imports) for travel services;
  • Determination of the U.S. Gross Domestic Product (GDP); and
  • Quantification of the national level of Travel and Tourism Satellite Accounts (TTSA).
The Survey also provides statistical market data on visitation patterns and traveler characteristics of the international air passenger travel market, which is used to facilitate and guide planning in both the public and private sectors. The latter is of paramount importance since the passage of the Travel Promotion Act of 2009.

To view the solicitation, issued by the NOAA Procurement Division of the U.S. Department of Commerce, go to FedBizOps at: https://www.fbo.gov/index?s=opportunity&mode=form&id=15f6f58683fadcdec639747c0ff52634&tab=core&_cview=0
The ‘Keyword’ is: DG1350-11-RP-0116.

Please click on “Add Me to Interested Vendors” tab in order to receive alerts of modifications throughout the RFP process.

Inquiries should be directed to Alisa Sydnor at [email protected] not later than 12:00 pm EDT, Friday July 22, 2011.

Final RFP packages are due to the NOAA Procurement Division by 12:00 p.m. EDT, Monday, August 08, 2011.
