Marriott Names Scott McCoy as General Manager of the Year
for the Americas Western Region

San Francisco, CA (June 29, 2011) – Scott McCoy, general manager of The Stanford Court Renaissance Hotel San Francisco was named General Manager of the Year for the Western Region by Marriott International.  Including the general managers from all full service Marriott International brands -- The Ritz-Carlton, JW Marriott, EDITION, Renaissance, and Marriott Hotels & Resorts-- located in cities from Honolulu to Halifax, Scott McCoy was the unanimous choice for the award.

The General Manager of the Year award recognizes an individual who wholeheartedly represents the hotel’s brand, provides outstanding leadership and contributions to the hotel’s continued success as well as actively engages in association, community and industry programs.    The General Manager of the Year award was developed to recognize outstanding accomplishment and leadership across all of Marriott International’s full-service brands.  With this recognition, Scott joins an elite group of General Managers who have contributed to the success and brand prowess of Marriott International.

McCoy was also recently recognized by Marriott International for his perseverance with the 2010 Mustang General Manager of the Year award and for the Most Improved Financial Results in 2010.

With more than 24 years of experience in the hospitality industry, McCoy joined The Stanford Court team more than four years ago.  During this time, McCoy has markedly improved the property’s financial results, delivered instrumental leadership and direction for the team and introduced initiatives that honor the hotel’s legacy of delivering the finest service and improve the overall guest experience.  The Stanford Court Hotel’s roots trace back to the mansion Leland Stanford built on the site in 1876.  The original mansion was designed to be a technological and aesthetic marvel and The Stanford Court Hotel today has remained true to that vision. Integrating sophisticated design with state-of-the-art technology and one-of-a-kind guest experiences that appeal to the senses and infuse guests with a sense of discovery, the hotel celebrates its rich history and prosperous future.  Currently, The Stanford Court Renaissance Hotel San Francisco is the only Marriott International lifestyle brand in the city of San Francisco and possesses its own personality, local flavor, distinctive style and charm.
