News for the Hospitality Executive |

July 4, 2011 In our over stimulated world of information provided 24/7, it becomes a challenge at times to evaluate much of that information. We were invited by a good friend this US holiday weekend to Pine Top, Arizona which allowed us to escape from the 118 degree temperature of Phoenix and enjoy some quiet time at a cabin. Unfortunately, I did not use all of my time for “quiet time”, as I felt the need to work on a deadline project and ended up writing. Setting that personal “shouldn’t have ugh” aside, let me share some personal insights. July 4th as a day has some special meaning to me.
While these reflections will be of
people that I have known, I encourage you to think back on the people
who
contributed to the person you are today.
Feel free to share an idea for a column at [email protected] anytime or contact me regarding consulting, customized workshops, speaking engagements … And remember – we all need a regular dose of common sense, John
