Choice Hotels International Opens 27 New Hotels in June 2011

Silver Spring, Md. (July 11, 2011) – Choice Hotels International, Inc. (NYSE: CHH) continues to grow with the announcement of 27 newly-opened franchised properties during the month of June. The openings include hotels in 19 states and three additional countries, adding more than 2,100 rooms to the company’s existing 490,000-plus rooms. Select properties that opened in June include:

Sleep Inn – Jamaica, N.Y.
The first Sleep Inn hotel in a primary urban market to feature the brand’s entirely new refreshed look and feeling, this non-smoking hotel is convenient to Queens and New York City. The hotel’s featured design provides guests with a stylish and reliable stay experience. Guestrooms feature a media board, complete with a flat screen TV and elegant leaning mirrors. The elegant baths have an oversized stand up shower with accented walls. The property also boasts a number of free amenities including breakfast, Wi-Fi, parking, and daily newspaper.

The Westport Inn, an Ascend Collection hotel – Westport, Conn.
This newly renovated and upscale boutique inn is in the perfect location for guests to experience the scenic beauty of the Connecticut coast. An Ascend Collection hotel, the property features a fitness center, courtesy bike rentals, on-site restaurant and lounge, free Wi-Fi, business center, valet cleaning service and more than 6,000 square feet of banquet and meeting space. All 117 guest rooms and suites offer rich amenities including luxurious bedding, upgraded toiletries, flat screen TVs, iPod docking stations, and pillow top mattresses. Select rooms also offer refrigerators and sofa beds. The hotel is 100 percent smoke free and pet friendly.

Suburban Extended Stay Hotel – Thompson, Manitoba, Canada
One of the first extended stay hotels from Choice Hotels to break ground in Canada, the Suburban Extended Stay Hotel Thompson of Manitoba offers guests all the conveniences of home, including fully-equipped kitchen facilities in each guestroom including microwaves and refrigerators, free Wi-Fi, flat screen plasma TVs, and pillow-top mattresses. The smoke-free hotel is pet friendly and also features an on-site fitness center and laundry facilities.

Comfort Hotel Mandarina – Grasse, France
Close to many popular attractions that southern France has to offer, the Comfort Hotel Mandarina boasts spectacular views of the surrounding area, located near the French Riviera (Côte d'Azur). The hotel offers an on-site restaurant, free Wi-Fi, meeting facilities and nightly manager’s reception. The hotel is pet friendly, smoke free, and provides parking. Guestrooms feature standard amenities including hair dryers, safes and cable television.
