2011 - Housed in the College of Management, the School of
Hospitality Leadership at the University of Wisconsin-Stout enrolls
more than
800 students in undergraduate programs in Hotel, Restaurant and Tourism
Management; Golf Enterprise Management and Property Management. As a
key member
of the College of Management leadership team, the Director will provide
leadership for the external activities of the School of Hospitality
Leadership.
Primarily responsibilities include: - Alumni relations. Engage
with UW-Stout’s
Alumni Association to create a database of hospitality program alumni;
establish methods to systematically communicate with and engage program
alumni;
coordinate alumni activities and events. - Fundraising and donor relations.
Collaborate
with UW-Stout’s Foundation to provide leadership and coordination to
all
fundraising activities in the School of Hospitality Leadership. - Corporate Relations.
Partner with UW-Stout’s
Career Services Office to develop a strategic and targeted approach for
Hospitality employer relations activities, including co-op site
development,
partnerships, grants, gifts-in-kind and faculty internships. - Executive Education.
Working with UW-Stout’s
Professional Education Services the Director will expand credit and
non-credit
programming to professionals in the hospitality field through multiple
delivery
systems. The Director will also work with the Chair
of Hospitality
and Tourism Department, the program directors and Hospitality and
Tourism
faculty on strategic initiatives that have been outlined to advance the
quality
and reputation of the School of Hospitality Leadership. This includes
the
recruitment and retention of students, program accreditation, the
development
of graduate programs, faculty development and the identification of
global
opportunities for faculty and students. The Director of the School of Hospitality
Leadership is a full-time,
renewable, 12-month administrative position with an anticipated start
date of
January 1, 2012. The Director reports to the Dean of the College of
Management
and works closely with the Chancellor’s Office, Provost’s Office and
the Stout
Foundation Office. This position will require extensive travel and the
ability
to manage multiple projects.
